Covered Bridge Run – October
Join us this fall for one of our most scenic drives—the Covered Bridge Run! This October, the Pacific Coast Rover Club will take you on a journey through Oregon’s countryside, where history and natural beauty meet and visit 7 covered bridges with two more depending on time.
When: October 25th
Where: Oregon’s iconic covered bridges
Why Covered Bridges?
Oregon is home to some of the most picturesque covered bridges in the country. These charming wooden structures, many built in the early 1900s, were designed to withstand the elements—and they’ve stood the test of time. Surrounded by vibrant fall foliage, they create the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable autumn drive.
Expect winding backroads, brilliant colors, and plenty of photo-worthy moments as we visit several of these historic treasures.
The Drive will begin at the Old Aurora Colony Museum. We will then take back roads to Gallon House Bridge, Jordan Covered Bridge, Shimanek Covered Bridge, Hannah Covered Bridge and then stop for a picnic lunch at Larwood Covered Bridge. After lunch we will visit the Hoffman Covered Bridge and then the Gilkey Covered Bridge. If time allows we may also head south to visit the Weddle Covered Bridge and Crawfordsville Covered Bridge near Sweet Home.
Bring a picnic lunch, snacks and a full tank of fuel, we will try to depart around 9:30AM from the Aurora Colony Museum parking area. We should be back in the Portland Area before 5:00.
I will provide maps and we may split up into groups if we have a large turnout.
